Is This Program Right for Your Teen?

If things don’t feel like they’re improving, you’re not alone.

Many parents reach a point where they realize their teen needs more support than weekly therapy alone.

Your teen may benefit if they are:

default

Struggling with anxiety that affects school, sleep, or daily life

default

Experiencing depression, low mood, or loss of motivation

default

Feeling overwhelmed, irritable, or emotionally reactive

default

Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities

default

Engaging in self-harm or having concerning thoughts

default

Having difficulty coping with stress, conflict, or life changes

default

Recently discharged from inpatient or residential care

Many of the teens we work with are:

default

Not improving with weekly therapy alone

default

Overwhelmed by academic, social, or family pressures

default

Navigating anxiety, depression, or mood challenges

default

Struggling to express emotions or ask for help

default

Experiencing conflict at home or with peers

default

In need of more structure, support, and consistency

Please note: This program is not designed for teens with active substance use or unstable eating disorders. We specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and mood-related challenges, and can support individuals in recovery.

What Are Teen PHP & IOP Programs?

Teen PHP (Partial Hospitalization) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient) programs provide structured mental health support several times per week, without requiring your teen to stay overnight.

These programs are designed for teens who need more support than weekly therapy alone. Think of it as a step between weekly therapy and inpatient care, designed to give your teen more support while helping them stay engaged in daily life.

When weekly therapy isn’t enough, these programs offer:

  • More structure, consistency, and support
  • A safe space to build coping skills and confidence
  • Connection with other teens going through similar challenges
  • Guidance from a dedicated team of mental health professionals

If your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, or overwhelming emotions, these programs can help them stabilize, build skills, and start moving forward.

What your teen can expect:

  • Group therapy multiple times per week
  • Small, supportive groups with peers
  • Practical coping skills they can use right away
  • Individual and family support as part of care

Your teen gets the support they need, while continuing school and staying connected to home.

Understanding Levels of Care

Every teen is different. Some need more structure and support than others, especially when weekly therapy hasn’t been enough.

Our programs offer two levels of care, depending on your teen’s needs:

Teen Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Our highest level of outpatient support

PHP at Clarity Clinic
  • Structured care 4 hours per day, 5 days per week (Mon–Fri)
  • Small, supportive group therapy sessions
  • Individual support built into the program
  • Family involvement to support progress at home
  • Intensive support while your teen continues living at home
  • Best for teens who need more daily structure and stabilization

Teen Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

A step down from PHP, with more flexibility

IOP at Clarity Clinic
  • Structured care 3 hours per day, 3–5 days per week
  • Ongoing group therapy and skill-building
  • Individual and family support included
  • Designed to fit around school and daily responsibilities
  • Helps teens build skills while maintaining routines
  • Ideal for teens who need support, but not full-day programming

What a Typical Week Looks Like

Starting a higher level of care can feel overwhelming, but many parents are surprised by how structured, supportive, and manageable it actually feels.

In our teen PHP or IOP programs, your teen can expect:

  • Structured sessions where they can talk through real-life challenges and learn alongside peers
  • Small group sizes for personalized support
    • PHP: 8–10 teens & IOP: up to 12 teens
  • A consistent weekly routine to help build stability and momentum
  • Support from a dedicated team of licensed therapists
  • Practical coping skills your teen can use in daily life

Your teen returns home each day with more tools, support, and direction, not disruption.

Does PHP & IOP Work?

How We Measure Success

At Clarity Clinic, success isn’t defined by attendance or program completion, it’s defined by real clinical improvement.

We measure progress using validated tools like the PHQ-9 & GAD-7, which assess depression and anxiety severity over time.

Our focus is simple:

  • Meaningful symptom reduction
  • Improved safety and stability
  • Better functioning in daily life

Meaningful Improvement, Backed by Data

In 2025, 81% of patients in our PHP and IOP programs showed clinically significant improvement in the symptoms that brought them to treatment, including depression, anxiety, and related mood concerns.

Improvement was measured using standardized clinical assessments, not just participation.

These outcomes place Clarity Clinic at or above commonly reported industry benchmarks, while helping patients feel more stable, supported, and prepared to move forward without hospitalization.
