Clarity Clinic's Adolescent Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs are designed to offer comprehensive, structured, support for teenagers ages 13-17 who are struggling with anxiety, depression, or mood-related disorders that are significantly impacting daily life.
Adolescents in our PHP and IOP programs build vital coping skills while continuing their academics. Teens attend school during the day and join the program in the evening. Family therapy plays a crucial role, fostering better communication, symptom management, and lasting progress.
Our adolescent PHP & IOP programs feature:

Adolescence is a critical and transformative period, marked by rapid physical changes and emotional development. During this time, teens are not only navigating their own identity but also managing increasing social and academic pressures. These challenges can lead to elevated stress, anxiety, and mood swings, making teens more susceptible to mental health struggles.
External factors such as school demands, peer relationships, family dynamics, and the influence of social media can further impact their mental well-being. Many teens also find it difficult to express their emotions or seek support, which can complicate efforts to address their mental health effectively.
Providing personalized care tailored to a teen’s specific needs is crucial for fostering emotional resilience and well-being during this pivotal stage.
At Clarity Clinic, we focus on offering individualized treatment that helps teens build the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges.
Our adolescent PHP & IOP program may be a good fit for adolescents who:
For families new to the world of youth mental health, terms like Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) can feel overwhelming. However, Clarity Clinic’s teen PHP & IOP provides essential support with flexible evening sessions, allowing teens to continue attending school.
Our adolescent PHP includes 12-20 hours per week of group therapy and is offered Monday through Friday, from 4-8pm. Our adolescent IOP includes 9-15 hours per week of group therapy and is offered Monday through Friday, from 4:30-7:30pm. Both programs have additional time set aside for individual and family support.
Our programs provide a caring, supportive space where your teen’s well-being comes first. After a comprehensive evaluation to understand their unique needs and strengths, we create a personalized treatment plan tailored to their specific symptoms and goals. Guided by clinicians specializing in adolescent mental health, your teen will work toward these goals using a range of evidence-based therapies.
Both our adolescent PHP and IOP programs offer a holistic approach to teen mental health care, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Core elements of these programs include individual therapy, daily group sessions, family involvement, and psychiatric support/medication management when needed (for PHP program participants only). Experiential therapies such as art, movement, yoga, and mindfulness are also incorporated. Understanding that every teen is different, we personalize treatment to align with their unique challenges and goals.
Family involvement is a vital part of our adolescent PHP & IOP programs. We believe that a supportive home environment is key to lasting progress, which is why we incorporate regular family therapy sessions. These sessions help improve communication, strengthen relationships, and equip families with the tools to better understand and support their teen’s mental health journey. In addition to family therapy, we provide education on mental health and strategies for managing stress, setting boundaries, and fostering emotional well-being. By working together, we create a foundation for long-term growth, ensuring progress continues beyond the program.
Our adolescent PHP & IOP programs are designed to help teens develop the skills they need to manage life’s challenges. Through evidence-based therapeutic modules, we focus on key areas such as emotional regulation, healthy coping strategies, communication, and building self-esteem. Each module is tailored to promote personal growth, resilience, and lasting mental wellness.
At Clarity Clinic, we believe that family involvement is a crucial part of a teen’s journey toward emotional well-being. Adolescents thrive when they have a supportive, understanding family environment, which is why we incorporate family participation into our PHP & IOP program. Our goal is to strengthen family connections, improve communication, and provide tools for healthier interactions at home.
Families are invited to participate in Family Connections Sessions, where they join their teen for a portion of the PHP or IOP session. These collaborative meetings help strengthen family bonds, provide a shared understanding of treatment goals, and offer practical tools for continued progress at home.
By integrating family involvement into our adolescent PHP and IOP program, we aim to foster a supportive network that empowers both teens and their families to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.
At Clarity Clinic, our mission is to provide timely, compassionate care in a supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of adolescents. Our teen PHP & IOP program offers a safe, welcoming space where teens can openly express themselves, develop healthy coping skills, and build resilience. Through personalized treatment plans and evidence-based therapies, our dedicated team helps empower teens to confidently manage life’s challenges.
We recognize that seeking a higher level of care can feel overwhelming for both teens and their families. Our goal is to create a program that not only provides effective treatment but also supports a smooth reintegration into daily life by helping your teen with:
Maintaining engagement in school, social life, and extracurricular activities: Our program is designed to work around your teen’s routine, allowing them to stay connected to their academic and social responsibilities.
Building self-confidence and a positive sense of self: Strengthening self-esteem is a core component of our treatment, as we believe confidence is key to emotional well-being and personal growth.
Learning practical strategies for managing emotions: Emotional regulation is critical during adolescence, and we focus on teaching skills that help teens manage difficult emotions in healthy, productive ways.
Improving communication and relationship-building skills: Strong interpersonal skills are essential for healthy relationships. We emphasize clear communication and empathy to foster positive connections with family and peers.
Recognizing and nurturing personal strengths and abilities: Every teen has unique talents and potential. Our program encourages them to identify and build on these strengths to foster a sense of purpose and achievement.
Reducing the need for more intensive mental health services: By addressing mental health concerns early and comprehensively, we aim to help teens achieve lasting progress and reduce the need for higher levels of care in the future.

An adolescent PHP/IOP program is an excellent fit for teens who struggle to open up to parents or authority figures about their mental health. Through our group therapy model, teens are provided a safe, supportive environment to connect with peers facing similar challenges. This not only makes it easier for them to express themselves openly and feel understood, but also helps normalize their experiences, foster accountability, and build a strong sense of belonging - all while free from the pressure of a parental or authoritative presence.

At Clarity Clinic we are committed to making high quality behavioral health services accessible to our patients. We are dedicated to working with you to decrease as many barriers to treatment as possible.
When you are ready to explore if our program may be a good fit for you, a member of the Clarity Clinic team will reach out to your insurance company to obtain your insurance eligibility information and review this information with you directly.
Our adolescent IOP program is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare, making it easier for you to access the care you need for your child or loved one.
Navigating the insurance system can be overwhelming, and we are here to help you understand the financial side of treatment as best as possible. Once we have your insurance information, we can verify the “out of network” benefits that are available to you through your insurance plan. If you do not have out of network benefits, Clarity can advocate for what is called a Single Case Agreement (SCA) with your insurance provider. If the single case agreement is not an option, we can provide additional resources to you or discuss private pay options.
You are your best advocate with your insurance provider, and we encourage you to reach out to your insurance company directly to understand your plan.
To verify your benefits, you can contact your insurance card via the number on the back of your card and advise “I’m calling to verify my (in-network or out of network) benefits for PHP and IOP general mental health services.”
If you are having difficulty getting the information you need, another option is to call your insurance company’s ‘Health Advocate’ or ‘Case Manager’ department. These insurance representatives are available to help you understand your benefits. There should be a number on the back of your insurance card to contact.
