I embrace each person's individuality and understand the significance of meeting everyone that seeks support where they are. Together we will craft a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. I recognize that not every therapeutic approach suits every individual and approach each session with an open mind and attentive ears.
In my graduate program for Master's in Art Therapy: Counseling at Adler University I am immersed in a program that equips me to practice both art therapy and counseling. Art serves as a powerful medium for communication and self-expression in therapy, enabling folks to articulate complex emotions. I received my undergraduate degree in Studio Art at Loyola University of Chicago. It was during that time I discovered my passion for studying strong concepts in art and fostering connections with others. I was fascinated by what I could learn from the people in my class through their art, and what they could learn about me.
I primarily utilize a Person-Centered approach alongside psychodynamic theories, catering to adolescents and adults. Additionally, I have experience working with the LGBTQ+ community. Art therapy is an impactful form of therapy that can be beneficial to a variety of people. I utilize both projective and standardized art therapy assessments if we determine art therapy is a good fit for your treatment needs.
When I am not working, I am usually practicing yoga or another form of exercise, walking in my neighborhood admiring the houses, and visiting my niece when I get the chance. Cooking is a special hobby to me as it is a means of expressing love and care for those in my life, often accompanied by my favorite music playing in the kitchen.
