I believe in developing a partnership with my patients to identify their strengths, values, goals, and needs. Together we craft an individualized treatment plan that utilizes the patient’s strengths and values to achieve their goals and needs.
I want to understand the difficulties, obstacles, and resources individuals have because naming these barriers and opportunities is an integral part of treatment. I know that the patient-clinician partnership can lead to an improved future outlook on life, more satisfying interpersonal relationships, and increased mental and physical wellness. I believe patients are experts on their own lives and their knowledge is what makes patient-centered problem solving possible.
My holistic treatment approach incorporates the biopsychosocial model, psychotherapy methods (such as CBT and DBT), and medication management. I recognize that patients do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. I humbly ask for you to give me the opportunity to show you I care, and to develop a partnership together to achieve greater mental and physical wellness.
I completed my Master of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. I have been honored to work with local immigrant and refugee populations while completing my clinical training in behavioral health. These experiences were later synthesized into professional publications presented at the American Psychological Association annual meeting and shared with colleagues to increase awareness of the challenges immigrants and refugees routinely encounter. Individual stories and experiences were only shared for educational purposes and after obtaining informed consent. Personal and identifying information was not disclosed. Since completing my schooling, I have gained years of experience working with adults and children.
I am thrilled to be a member of Clarity’s team and look forward to partnering with you.
