Navigating the human experience can often feel like a labyrinth, a maze of situations, emotions, thoughts, relationships, decisions, and beyond. I am here to remind you that we get to choose our path. We get to choose how we continue: we can go backward or stay still, doing what is not working, or we can move forward with a curious desire to grow. If turning your mind toward this second choice has brought you here, welcome! I would be honored to support you in your active choice to move forward toward fulfilling your values and living a life that you love.
My mission is to partner with those seeking therapy and care for their distinctive needs with compassion and nonjudgment. Together, we will focus on embracing healing, increasing emotion regulation, enhancing self-awareness, implementing skills, and other jointly created goals.
I believe in providing an assorted approach that is evidence-based and adaptable to your unique therapeutic journey. Cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, narrative, and systems therapy are integrated, in tandem with both strengths (highlighting what YOU bring to the table, no matter the circumstances) and goal-oriented methods (highlighting what YOU want to achieve). This restorative process emphasizes empowering the complete individual: body, emotions, and mind, with continuous awareness and affirmation of the whole person: race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and varying abilities.
I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders, as well as substance use, ranging from sobriety, and moderation, or learning about how past, present, or future use relates to and impacts mental health, goals, and progress.
I have worked with individuals and groups at various levels of care: including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and inpatient, and with many presentations: including substance use, depression, anxiety, other mood disorders, and dual diagnosis (mental health and substance use co-occurring) in Chicago.
I look forward to working with you on your journey to mental wellness.
