As a professional, my goal is to understand and treat my patients as whole individuals, considering their unique minds, their current and past circumstances as well as their medical needs.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, since my graduation I've worked doing community health psychiatry first in the Bronx, NY, and in the last few years in Southwest side Chicago.
Throughout my career I have developed a passion and expertise in working with adults suffering from a broad range of mental health disorders, first during my formative years I participated closely in the treatment of patients with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, once graduated and worked in the community I specialized more in the treatment of major depression, anxiety disorders like panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and adult ADHD
I'm originally from Mexico City where I went to Medical school, I've spent a good amount of time training as a psychiatrist, first in my native country where I did a 4-year training, and then again here at the University of Illinois at Chicago. What you can expect at a first meeting is a thorough evaluation but I also want to connect with you and understand your needs clearly so I can really help.
