I recognize that the stigma associated with seeking mental health care continues to serve as an obstacle for some. Although the past few years have heightened the need for identification, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, many are reluctant to seek assistance due to this stigma.
As a provider, I am devoted to breaking down this barrier and normalizing the integration of both physical and mental wellness. Through compassion and attention to detail, I prioritize your individual needs to find the most effective treatment plan. I believe in building my client relationships based on trust and open communication to create an environment that encourages patients to speak openly about their challenges and concerns. This collaborative approach provides a personalized, holistic, education-based treatment plan that may include various elements of therapy, lifestyle changes, and pharmacology.
I am a licensed and nationally board-certified physician assistant specializing in mental health. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology, along with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I went on to complete my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. I completed rotations in many specialties, including psychiatry in a rural, underserved community.
I started my career in the field of psychiatry where I provided psychiatric care to residents in nursing homes, as well as outpatient care to patients working through substance use disorders and other mental health crises. Some of my additional specialties include depression, anxiety, dementia, sleep disorders, and mood disorders.
I would be honored to support you on your path to mental wellness.
