Gloria Aguilar, LPC

I believe in the importance of a therapeutic space that is inclusive, supportive, nurturing, and non-judgmental. I provide trauma-informed and culturally sensitive therapy for individuals of all ages in English and Spanish, using evidence-based treatment modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered CBT, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I have experience providing services for various presentations including depression, anxiety, conduct, bipolar and related disorders, ADHD, substance use, feeding/eating disorders, stress and trauma-related diagnosis, self-harm, and co-occurring disorders.

I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with the Child and Adolescent concentration. Throughout my academic career, I gained experience facilitating individual, family, and group therapy in outpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care with people of all ages and backgrounds. I have experience providing services for minorities. I provide LGBTQ+ affirming care.

Individuals can face symptoms that often cause them to feel alone in this experience as they encounter situations outside their control. I believe in the human ability to grow when provided with the resources and a nurturing environment that fosters development and empowers individuals to use their strengths to cope with the aspects of life that are within their control.

Through my experience and education, I have learned the importance of therapeutic alliance and working collaboratively with clients and their families. It is an honor and privilege to walk with someone through their journey as they become empowered to grow.
