My passion involves helping people overcome the difficult challenges life can bring, whether from normal everyday experiences, traumatic events, or working through issues of gender and sexual identity. I value the unique experience of each client, and work with them to find solutions to the obstacles they face. My sincerest desire is to help clients live an anxiety and depression free life.
I begin treatment by establishing a non-judgmental and compassionate understanding of the client’s concerns and their story of the difficulties they have faced throughout life that have brought them to see me. I also seek to understand my client’s goals for the future and collaboratively decide on a treatment path best suited to their personal strengths. Through this collaborative therapeutic relationship, I work with each client toward their recovery using techniques they find work best for them.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in Chicago. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have worked with helping patients overcome the impacts of a variety of traumatic events over the past several years. This work lends itself to helping clients with a number of related issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and life transitions. I have also worked closely with the LGBTQ+ community in helping with gender transitions, questioning gender and sexual identity, and coming out. I utilize an integrated therapeutic approach with a core of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and incorporating aspects of ACT, Positive Psychology, and Existential Psychology to address a variety of client needs.
