“Life is like the river, sometimes it sweeps you gently along and sometimes the rapids come out of nowhere.” -Emma Smith
In every phase of life, people face many different challenges. Although these challenges are inevitable, we do not have to endure them all by ourselves. As a therapist, I understand that seeking help can be overwhelming. That’s why I accept all of my clients as they are, regardless of where they are on their healing journey. I am passionate about empowering my clients and helping them discover their strengths, overcome difficulties, and create positive change in their lives.
I graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in School & Community Counseling. During my graduate program, I worked in the Student Services Department at Evanston Township High School. I helped my students build self-esteem, develop coping skills, and achieve their goals. I also collaborated with families, teachers, and counselors to create plans for students with disabilities in order to give them the tools and accommodations necessary for success.
I have experience working with individuals, groups, and families in a partial hospitalization program. I specialize in working with high acuity adolescents with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and conduct disorders. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For individuals with OCD, specific phobias, or complex anxiety, I use techniques rooted in Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) to help build courage and confidence. Above all, I provide a safe, respectful, and judgment-free space for everyone I work with. I strive to provide empathic and equitable services to people of all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, and faith backgrounds.
In my personal life, I enjoy exercise (tennis, running, rowing, and lifting). I also enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with friends and family!
