I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and an Art Therapist. Originally from Philadelphia, I received my BFA in painting from Temple University/Tyler School of Art. After taking two years off school to work as an au pair, I moved to Chicago to earn my masters in Art Therapy and counseling at Adler University.
I began my professional journey at Awakenings art gallery in the Ravenswood neighborhood. Awakenings supports survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence. As an artist who creates from emotion, I deeply connected with the work in the gallery. For my clinical training I moved on to Above and Beyond family recovery Center. I facilitated groups related to art making, emotion focused processing, and addiction. Post clinical training I received my LPC. Continuing in my professional career I worked as a medical case manager and therapist for Test Positive Aware Network, where I completed my hours for my LCPC. Additionally during that time I worked in private practice part-time under the guidance of an LCSW.
My areas of specialty include trauma processing, anxiety, depression, addiction, and LGBTQ+ related issues. I have worked extensively with the POC/LGBTQ+ community as a case manager and clinical therapist in my previous places of work. My treatment modalities include DBT, ACT, REBT, and emotion focused therapies. Also enjoy incorporating Internal Family Systems therapy and Art Therapy into my practice. I am always curious to listen to someone's story and understand the whole person. As a therapist my main goal is to facilitate a safe, welcoming environment for all participants. I take a humanistic approach to my therapy, as I am someone who enjoys learning about my clients and making connections.
