FAQ Regarding NPI for New Hires

Completing the NPI Form:

As I work my way through the NPI, I am confused about three sections of the system:

• Health Information Exchange (endpoints)
  
  Endpoint and identifiers are optional please move to the next step. We do not want to enroll in the reporting.
• Other Identifiers
  
  It’s optional, move to the next step.
• Taxonomy
  
  This varies. You can review the different codes on the following website: https://taxonomy.nucc.org/ and the recommendation is to use your license/credentials and job title to select your response.
  
  Some examples are:
  
  LPC: 101YP2500X- Professional Counselor,
  LCSW: 1041C0700X -Clinical Social Worker
