DBT-Informed Skills Group

This 14-week group is open to Adults 18+ and all genders.

This DBT-informed group is based on Marsha Linehan’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy model (DBT). Dialect means to bring two seemingly opposing truths together as one. This group can enhance individual skills work.

Extensive research has shown that DBT is effective for a variety of psychological disorders including but not limited to anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, OCD, self-harm, chronic difficulties in relationships, substance use, trauma, and anger. This is a closed group where members will join the group at the beginning and end together.

Objectives

Clients can expect to increase distress tolerance by changing thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Greater balance can be achieved when acceptance and change are synthesized. Clients will develop skills that encourage healthier relationships with their emotions and environment.

Clients will be asked to complete a 15-minute assessment prior to joining the group to determine goodness of fit.
